During this weekend with Suzanne, I learned far more than I could have from a book or online course. By going out to the places where the plants actually live, I began to establish a respectful relationship with them. Making medicine in a kitchen with dehydrated plants is great (especially in the cold months after much of the harvest is over), but making medicine in a tree grove or herbal stand with freshly gathered plants has transformed my understanding of how to work with them.

The 3 days intensive with the Cedar Mountain Herb School was phenomenal! It might have only been 3 days, but I came home with almost a whole summer’s worth of full tincture jars and a big stash of herbs harvested from Suzanne’s garden! Suzanne is a world-class herbalist with a wonderful way of teaching and showing her students the best way to identify and harvest the medicine all around us! She is very thorough and even dives into plant chemistry so her students have a deep understanding. This knowledge is priceless and I will use this knowledge for the rest of my life!

My husband and I drove from western Washington for the fall 3-day Herbal Intensive. It was a pleasant drive and took us only about 5.5 hours. Northern Idaho was absolutely beautiful and well worth it. Suzanne was very welcoming. We ended up staying at a hotel that took dogs.
At the fall herbal intensive I had so much fun that I forgot I was learning something. But don’t panic the information was so easy to recall because Suzanne had a beautiful way of weaving the lessons in with real life relatable accounts of how incredibly powerful these herbal remedies are. I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed the Elderberry Oxymel as well as the comforting Hops tincture. There was flexibility with everything we made. This was my first time working with Devil’s club and it was fun to work in a group while getting tips from Suzanne. I think my favorite is the Devil’s club honey! Such an incredible taste. All of the remedies were ready by Thanksgiving to share with my family.
Thank you so much Suzanne for offering this magical workshop!
