When we spend quiet time in nature, we enter a conversation with the soil, the plants, the insects, birds, and all of life! Listen to what is being said. Nervine plants speak the language of calm, peace, kindness and joy. We’ll touch on six herbs that help to calm and nourish with fun ways to “get the medicine to the people in ways they’ll enjoy taking, so that healing can occur.”
Meditation can be described as the art of listening. But how can we listen when we’re always multitasking, on the move – without taking time to come up for air? As we explore herbs and what they offer to help us stress less naturally, we also will experience techniques of meditation to help us go deeper. The breath is key! We’ll practice different breathing techniques. We take the breath with us wherever we go, do we not? Thus we have a portable way to find calmness no matter which situation we find ourselves in. We’ll also experience ways to release tension from the body. When the tension leaves, we’re left with what’s been there all along ~ a relaxed state of being. Other techniques will be explored as well, such as affirmations and chanting.
