We never know when an emergency situation will occur. Wounds, bleeding, infections, muscle trauma, rashes, allergic reactions, shock, heat exhaustion, and motion sickness (to name a few!). Be prepared by learning in advance what plants to use and the best ways to use them – whether the emergency occurs at home, on the road, or in the wilderness. I carry my first aid kit with me in my vehicle when I’m out with my apprentices. It seems that it’s used frequently when we’re out in the mountain, harvesting. Usually, it’s allergic reactions and bleeding. What do you think of that?! I always have what is needed.

The workshop will be held in the Skagit foothills. There’s a wide variety of first aid plants in the Pac NW forests. You’ll create first aid remedies with wild harvested plants from the field to heal wounds and stop bleeding.

You’ll also learn how to make herbal poultices, compresses, other on-the-spot fixes, and you’ll get a list of essential items to have in your first aid kit including clays, cayenne pepper, homeopathic remedies, bandages, and more.

If you would like to take home the remedies we make in class, please bring:

  • Cutting board
  • Chopping knife
  • Scissors
  • 3 half pint wide mouth jars with lids
  • Witch Hazel – a pint
  • 80 – 100 proof vodka – a pint
  • Harvesting bag or basket
  • Clippers
  • Dress for the weather!

Come prepared to have fun!!!!

Cancellation fee is $10 if you let us know at least 2 days before the workshop. Day before, cancellation fee is $20. No refunds for no-shows. Thanks!
