The ancient art and alchemy of distilling fresh flowers, leaves, buds, roots, bark, or seeds to make a “hydrosol” is one that deepens our relationships with plants and expands our options for healing modalities.
Hydrosols are a magical transformation of fresh plants and living water, thoughtful intention fire, metal, and steam that produce a gentle, ethical and accessible alternative to essential oils for aromatherapy. They can be used alone or be incorporated into other natural plant therapies.
In this AMAZING workshop you will learn all about the workings of a traditional copper alembic still and participate in the process of distillation! All students will take home some of the hydrosol we will make!
This interactive class includes both demonstration and participation! You sample some hydrosols and discover how using them can be a lovely, vital part of achieving health and wellness thorough more natural lifestyle choices. Hydrosols have many easy and versatile uses that include both aesthetic and therapeutic applications!
You will acquire an understanding of the considerations that go into crafting a high quality hydrosol, including the positive intentions that YOU bring to crafting this transformative medicine. You will also learn a technique for creating hydrosol without a still, using basic kitchen equipment so you can get started making your own hydrosols right away!
You will love this class! Distillation is fun, thrilling, meditative, and relaxing all at once! And, of course, all participants will take home some of the hydrosol made during the workshop!
