The vibrational medicine of roses is that we are held and comforted in our grieving and injured hearts. When we feel loss, we can wear the rose beads and take in the love and comfort so readily given and so needed.
Rose beads are thought to be the beads from which the early rosaries were made back in the 12th century for devotees of the Catholic religion to count their prayers. Predating Catholicism are other religions that used and still use beads during meditation and prayer.
So easy to make, rose beads are almost a forgotten art. Being out in nature, picking wantonly fragrant wild roses in the warm morning sun is so peacefully healing. We will gather the roses and return to the CMHS homestead to create aromatic rose beads to take home. Be a part of a long-standing tradition of creating herbal medicine literally by hand!
Students will take home a portion of the beads made during the class – we will divvy up all the rose petals and make the beads together.
