Discover the myriad uses for using hydrosols for health and wellness and acquire an understanding of the considerations that go into crafting a fresh high quality hydrosol, including living water, fresh plants and the intention and magic that YOU bring to crafting this transformative medicine. An ethical and accessible alternative to essential oils for aromatherapy, hydrosols are a safe and gentle natural plant remedy that are a useful addition to your herbal toolbox!
Explore pine, willow, and sage – their medicine, magic, and constituents, while we dive into the alchemy of the ancient distillation process using a traditional copper alembic still – a beautiful work of art in itself! Heather is a master at distilling plants and her passion shows her intimate knowledge of both the plants and distillation process.
Students will assist in the preparation of the plants for distillation as well as sample a variety of hydrosols. All participants will take home the hydrosol made during the workshop, plus a bonus desert sage hydrosol! After the hydrosol distillation is complete, Heather will take everyone to her favorite sage gathering site for an opportunity to learn, hands on, the mysteries and benefits of this fragrant aster family plant!!! After harvesting, there will be a bit of a smudge bundle tying circle. Much fun will be had by all!
