Mmmmm! Honey + Herbs is truly one of the most delightful ways receive the benefits of plant medicine for health and vitality! Honey itself is naturally medicinal, full of beneficial nutrients, acids, and enzymes. Add in some herbs to that sweet ambrosia, and you can have a powerhouse of a remedy. Plus herbal infused honeys are a great way entice those herbal-reluctant folks you care about to take their medicine, too! Yes, please!

Making an herb infused honey sounds so simple and, yes, it can be…but properly infused honeys that are shelf-stable are dependent on many variables including a basic understanding of how honey actually extracts plant constituents. In this class you will learn everything you need to know about infusing herbs into honey to get the full benefits from the herbs and the honey itself. You will learn through step-by-step instructions, demonstration, tasting (of course!) and by making your own infused honey to take home!

By the way, this class would make the SWEETEST Mother’s Day gift for yourself or someone special! And it pairs well with Beginning Herbalism: Introduction to Infusions & Decoctions, offered in the afternoon.

Dry herb or fresh plants? Which plant constituents (chemicals that have a physiological effect) does honey extract? How much herb to honey should I use? How long should the herbs soak? Is there more than one way to infused the honey? Do I heat the honey? Should I strain the herbs? Plus 10 other questions, am I right?! Even folks who have been working with herbs for awhile may feel unsure about this process. We will answer these questions and MORE!

This class includes lots of information plus sampling some medicinal honeys, seeing a demonstration, and receiving guidance and support with hands-on practice as each student will make their own infused honey to take home! How sweet is that?!

Whether you are new to learning about herbal remedies, need a refresher or want to grow your knowledge and skills, this is the class for you to gain or cement the knowledge needed to feel confident in creating your own herbal infused honeys for yourself and to share (maybe…) with your lucky friends and family!

Let’s get the medicine to the people in ways they’ll enjoy taking, so that healing can occur!
